2024 BMW X4

A black 2024 BMW X4 M was brought to Ixexotics in Cypress, TX with a familiar goal for an expensive, high-performance SUV: protect it before the miles start showing. The X4 M carries a long hood, a tall front end, and a lot of painted surface that lives directly in the line of fire from highway debris and kicked-up gravel. The owner wanted the highest-impact areas armored with paint protection film, and the entire finish corrected and sealed with a ceramic coating that would hold up for years.

That meant a two-part program: the Full Front Paint Protection Film package built around XPEL Ultimate, plus the 5 Year Gold ceramic coating package. The value is in how the layers work together — correction makes the paint flawless, the coating seals and deepens it, and film absorbs the abuse the road throws at it.

Paint Correction & Ceramic Coating

The 5 Year Gold Package is a two-step process, and it starts where every good coating does: with the surface. A full paint correction and paint enhancement pass — typically eight to ten hours — systematically removed the swirls, scratches, and hazing that accumulate from factory handling, transport, and dealership washing. On black paint, those imperfections are the most visible of any color; correction is what lets the finish read as deep and flawless rather than merely shiny.

With the paint leveled and dead-clean, our team hand-applied ceramic coating panel by panel. Each coated surface was then cured under an infrared heat lamp, which accelerates the bonding process and drives the coating into the paint more quickly and evenly. The result is a harder, more durable finish with improved chemical resistance and water-repellency.

For the owner, that translates into years of easier maintenance: contaminants struggle to bond, water beads and sheets off, and washing stays noticeably easier between details. The package is engineered for 4–5 years or more of protection and includes a check-up two weeks after delivery to confirm the coating has settled in exactly as it should.

Full Front XPEL Ultimate Paint Protection Film

The front end was armored with XPEL Ultimate paint protection film, backed by XPEL’s 10-year manufacturer warranty. Coverage follows our standard front-end package: full front bumper, hood, fenders, trim, headlights, and mirror caps — every surface the X4 M presents to rock chips and road debris.

This project went a step further: at the owner’s direction, the install notes called for A-pillar coverage to be added. The A-pillars are a high-visibility, high-impact zone on any daily-driven vehicle — directly in the path of debris kicked up by traffic ahead — yet they’re often left out of standard front-end packages. Including them closes the gap between the hood and the roof rail, so the protected zone runs continuously from the nose of the car up the windshield line.

Installation included basic trim removal — handles, flares, trim, and emblems — so the film tucks cleanly behind the components rather than being cut around them, and edges were extended and wrapped wherever applicable for a seamless, durable finish. As with any professional PPF installation, small exposed areas can remain on high-tension surfaces where relief cuts or seams are necessary for long-term durability — standard practice, not a compromise. The package also includes a complimentary warranty wash and check two weeks after delivery.

Final Result

The completed X4 M is a performance SUV that’s ready for real life: freshly corrected black paint sealed under Feynlab Ultra, with invisible armor across the entire front end and up both A-pillars. The coating’s hydrophobic behavior keeps water beading and shedding contaminants, the film reads as nothing at all under normal light, and the surfaces most likely to take abuse are now the ones best protected. Two days after drop-off, the owner picked up a vehicle that looks better than it did at the dealership — and is built to stay that way.
