A black 2026 Tesla Model Y arrived at Ixexotics in Cypress, TX with a goal shared by a growing number of EV owners: protect the car from day one, and make the glass as livable as possible in Houston’s climate. Teslas are known for thin factory paint and a front end that takes a constant beating from highway debris. The owner wanted the highest-impact surfaces armored with paint protection film, every window treated with ceramic tint — windshield included — and the peace of mind that comes with a no-fault PPF warranty behind the film.

The program paired the Full Front Paint Protection Film package with XPEL XR Plus ceramic window tint on all side, rear, and windshield glass. Notably, there is no ceramic coating on this job — the project is film and glass, done right.

Full Front XPEL Ultimate Paint Protection Film

The front end was armored with XPEL Ultimate paint protection film, backed by XPEL’s 10-year manufacturer warranty. Coverage follows our standard front-end package: full front bumper, hood, fenders, trim, headlights, and mirror caps — every surface the Model Y presents to rock chips, road debris, and the constant spray of highway driving.

Installation included basic trim removal — handles, flares, trim, and emblems — so the film tucks cleanly behind the components rather than being cut around them, and edges were extended and wrapped wherever applicable for a seamless, durable finish. As with any professional PPF installation, small exposed areas can remain on high-tension surfaces where relief cuts or seams are necessary for long-term durability — standard practice, not a compromise. The package also includes a complimentary warranty wash and check two weeks after delivery.

No-Fault PPF Warranty

The owner also chose our no-fault PPF warranty, which provides full replacement of the paint protection film on any single panel previously installed at Ixexotics — for any reason, damage or otherwise — with removal, replacement labor, and materials included, one time. On a daily-driven EV that racks up interstate miles, that single-panel guarantee is the difference between a small repair bill after a fender-bender or a bad scrape, and walking in to have it simply made right.

XPEL XR Plus Ceramic Window Tint

The glass received the same standard of protection. All side and rear windows were tinted with XPEL XR Plus premium nano-ceramic film at 20% front and 30% side/rear — the owner’s shade choices — a film rated for up to 98% heat rejection while blocking more than 99% of harmful UV rays. The windshield was tinted separately with XR Plus at a lighter 50% shade, rated up to 96% heat rejection, cutting solar load and glare without compromising forward visibility.

For a Model Y, the glass is a big part of the experience — tall side windows and that sweeping roofline mean a lot of solar exposure. The ceramic film keeps the cabin dramatically cooler under Texas sun, reduces glare for the driver, and blocks UV that would otherwise accelerate fading on dash, screens, and upholstery. At 20% up front and 30% on the side and rear, the tint also gives the black Model Y a cohesive, purposeful appearance that suits its silhouette.
